Burley Model Allotments in Leeds has a packed calendar of community events planned for 2026. Whether you are an existing plot holder, a prospective member on the waiting list, or simply a local resident curious about what goes on behind our gates on Lumley Place, there is something here for everyone.
From plant sales in the spring through to pumpkin carving in the autumn, our events bring the Burley and Kirkstall community together and celebrate the joy of growing your own produce in Leeds.
Spring and Early Summer Events at Burley Model Allotments
Plant Sale — Saturday 16 May, 10am–12 noon
Our May plant sale is the perfect opportunity to pick up home-grown plants, seedlings and produce grown right here on the allotment site in LS4. Alongside the plants you will find homemade cakes, refreshments and a raffle. Entry is open to all, so bring the family along and see what life at Burley Model Allotments is all about.
Plant Sale — Saturday 13 June, 10am–12 noon
A second plant sale follows in June, again with cakes, refreshments and a raffle. Both sales are held on site and are a great chance to chat with our plot holders, find out how to get on our waiting list, and take home something grown locally in Leeds.
Late Summer: The Annual Show
Children’s Pre-Show Preparations — Saturday 5 September
Young growers are invited to take part in pre-show preparations ahead of our flagship annual event. Timings will be confirmed closer to the date — keep an eye on this page for updates.
Annual Show — Sunday 6 September, Doors Open 2pm
The highlight of our calendar. The Burley Model Allotments Annual Show is a celebration of everything our members have grown across the year. Family and friends are warmly welcome. Come along and see the best fruit, vegetables and flowers grown in Leeds LS4.
Autumn Events in Burley and Kirkstall
Apple Pressing — Saturday 26 September, 11.15am–3.30pm (provisional)
Join us for our popular apple pressing session. A wonderful hands-on activity for all ages and a real taste of what community allotment life in Leeds is all about.
Apple Pressing — Saturday 17 October, 11.15am–3.30pm (provisional)
A second apple pressing session follows in October for anyone who missed the first. Both sessions are subject to final timing confirmation.
Annual General Meeting (AGM) — Saturday 31 October, 11.15am–12.15pm
All members of the Burley Model Allotments Association are invited to attend the AGM, where the year’s activity is reviewed and the committee for the coming year is elected.
Pumpkin Carving — Saturday 31 October, from 12.30pm
Following the AGM, stay on for pumpkin carving — a fun seasonal activity for members and their families as Halloween approaches.

Burley Model Allotments is located at Lumley Place, Burley, Leeds, LS4 2NL. Our Trading Hut is open every Saturday morning between 10am and 11am, where you can also pick up an application form to join our waiting list.
